In a significant disciplinary action, Krishna district collector DK Balaji suspended ten resource persons (RPs) assigned to census duties in Tadigadapa municipality after they were reportedly found absent from work and negligent in their responsibilities. Collector orders inquiry into negligence

Expressing strong dissatisfaction over their performance, the collector ordered the suspension and directed the project director of Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter. Officials said the investigation would examine the extent of negligence and whether the absenteeism affected the progress and accuracy of the census work. Authorities indicated that further disciplinary action could be initiated if additional irregularities come to light during the inquiry.
