The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the transfer of 953 square metres of land near the Mohanlalganj tehsil building to establish a revamped sub-registrar office for stamp and registration work. This decision follows a proposal from the district administration and the stamp and registration department, aimed at resolving severe space constraints at the existing facility.
Current Overcrowding Issues
Currently, the Mohanlalganj sub-registrar office operates from within the tehsil premises and remains overcrowded throughout the day. Officials have noted that the pressure has increased due to rising real estate activity, leading to a higher daily volume of deeds and transactions. The office handles not only land sale and purchase documents but also registration of agreements, contracts, gift deeds, lease deeds, marriage registrations, and power of attorney documents.
New Facility Details
The new site will allow for the construction of a larger public-facing facility. It will include a waiting hall, separate toilet blocks, and a storeroom for the safekeeping of physical records and stamp papers. This move is expected to streamline operations and improve service delivery for citizens.
With the growing demand for registration services, the new office aims to provide a more comfortable and efficient environment for both staff and the public. The cabinet's approval marks a significant step towards modernizing infrastructure in the region.
