UPSRTC Launches Major Recruitment Drive for Drivers and Conductors
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is set to initiate a significant recruitment process by the end of this month, aiming to hire a total of 6,674 staff members to bolster its bus services across the state. This move is part of a broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and address staffing shortages.
Recruitment Details and Contractual Arrangements
According to official announcements, UPSRTC will recruit 3,060 drivers and 3,614 conductors. The drivers will be appointed on a contract basis, while the conductors will be outsourced through third-party agencies. This dual approach is designed to streamline hiring and ensure flexibility in workforce management.
The recruitment process is currently underway, with applications expected to open soon. Officials have emphasized that this initiative will help fill critical vacancies and enhance the reliability of bus services, which have faced challenges due to understaffing in recent times.
Minister's Review and Strategic Directions
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh highlighted the importance of this recruitment drive during a review meeting of the corporation held on Tuesday. He stated that the addition of new drivers and conductors will significantly improve bus operations in Uttar Pradesh, leading to better service quality for passengers.
In the meeting, Minister Singh also directed officials to expedite the procurement of new buses. He instructed them to allocate the budget efficiently towards purchasing additional vehicles, aiming to modernize the fleet and increase the frequency of services. This dual focus on staffing and infrastructure is expected to transform public transportation in the state.
Expected Impact on Public Transportation
The recruitment of over 6,600 staff members is anticipated to have a positive impact on UPSRTC's operations. With more drivers and conductors onboard, the corporation can reduce delays, improve scheduling, and enhance overall passenger experience. This initiative aligns with the state government's efforts to strengthen public transport systems and support economic growth through better connectivity.
As UPSRTC moves forward with this recruitment, stakeholders are optimistic about seeing tangible improvements in bus services across Uttar Pradesh, making travel more convenient and reliable for millions of residents.
