India's First Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Begins Commercial Service
India's railway network achieves a significant milestone with the launch of its first Vande Bharat Sleeper train. This new semi-high-speed train will start commercial operations from Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Route and Schedule Details
The train will connect Guwahati's Kamakhya station with Howrah in West Bengal. Train number 27576, the Kamakhya–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, will commence its commercial journey on January 22. The return service, train number 27575 Howrah–Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, will begin operations the following day on January 23.
The Northeast Frontier Railway zone will operate and maintain this new-age train. The Kamakhya–Howrah service will run on all days of the week except Wednesday. Similarly, the Howrah–Kamakhya service will operate daily except Thursday.
