Varanasi to Create Organized Vending Zones to Tackle Traffic Chaos in Ramnagar
Varanasi Plans Vending Zones to Ease Ramnagar Traffic

Varanasi Takes Action Against Traffic Gridlock with New Vending Zones

The Varanasi Municipal Corporation is launching a major initiative to tackle persistent traffic problems in the city. Officials are creating organized street vending zones as a key solution. This move aims to bring order to chaotic market areas and improve overall mobility for residents and visitors.

Ramnagar Market Area Gets Priority Focus

Authorities have identified Ramnagar's dense market and surrounding localities as a priority zone for immediate intervention. The area suffers from severe congestion due to unorganized street shops that spill onto roads. Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal recently conducted an intensive inspection of the Ramnagar zone and Sujabad area to assess the situation firsthand.

During a meeting at the Ramnagar zone office on Thursday, local traders voiced strong concerns about traffic woes. They specifically requested the establishment of vending zones at two proposed sites. Traders emphasized the urgent need for proper parking facilities and public toilets in empty spaces around the market.

Municipal Commissioner Directs Swift Implementation

Commissioner Nagpal has taken a proactive approach to address these issues. He directed concerned officials to submit detailed reports on all proposed vending zone plans. Nagpal personally toured the Ramnagar zone office to inspect existing arrangements and identify improvement areas.

During his inspection, Nagpal issued several important directives. He ordered the construction of proper pathways around the green area of the zone office. The commissioner also instructed officials to concrete the tubewell site near the water tank and install a protective tin shed over it.

Broader Cleanliness and Development Initiatives

The municipal corporation's efforts extend beyond just traffic management. Nagpal thoroughly examined cleanliness arrangements and development works across various wards. He inspected multiple ongoing projects to ensure timely completion.

One significant project receiving special attention is the Domri Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The commissioner directed officials to complete this crucial infrastructure project according to schedule. This reflects the comprehensive approach Varanasi authorities are taking toward urban improvement.

The organized vending zone initiative represents a practical step toward solving Varanasi's traffic challenges. By creating designated spaces for street vendors, providing parking facilities, and ensuring basic amenities like public toilets, the municipal corporation hopes to transform congested market areas into more organized and accessible public spaces.
