The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) conducted a review meeting on Wednesday to assess the progress of the state's QR code-based digital door numbering project. This initiative aims to establish a unique digital identity for every property, thereby enhancing the delivery of civic services.
Review Meeting Highlights
During the review meeting, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) G Srujana directed officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe and ensure accuracy at all stages of implementation. She emphasized the importance of property data collection, parcel mapping, geo-tagging, road mapping, and integration of records with the ERP system.
Objectives of the Project
Srujana stated that the initiative would make civic services more transparent, efficient, and accessible by assigning a unique QR code to each property. She also reviewed field-level issues and instructed officials to take necessary steps for their resolution.
Data Quality and Urban Planning
The deputy commissioner stressed the need to maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy of geographical identification, and completeness of property records. She noted that the digital database generated through this exercise would support urban planning, property tax administration, and improvement of citizen services.
