The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for updating voter lists is set to commence on June 15 in the districts of Mahendragarh and Rewari. This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll and to rectify any discrepancies.
Mahendragarh Preparations
Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Anupama Anjali announced that door-to-door physical verification of voters will begin on June 15. Speaking at a press conference in Narnaul on Friday, she emphasized that the primary goal of the SIR campaign is to guarantee voting rights for all eligible residents and to remove inaccuracies from the voter list.
All booth-level officers (BLOs) and supervisors are undergoing specialized training from June 5 to June 14 to prepare for the campaign. The first phase, running from June 15 to July 14, will involve mandatory door-to-door surveys by BLOs, who will distribute enumeration forms to voters. Citizens are required to fill out these forms and return them to the BLOs or submit the details online via the Election Commission's portal at voters.eci.gov.in.
To facilitate the process, the Election Commission of India has introduced a call-book facility enabling voters to directly contact their BLOs for information related to voter identity cards. Additionally, a toll-free helpline (01282-1950) has been established by the District Election Office in Narnaul to provide assistance and address queries.
Anupama Anjali urged the youth, especially those who will turn 18 by July 1, to seize this opportunity and register as voters. She stressed the importance of active participation to strengthen the democratic process.
Rewari Campaign Details
Similarly, Rewari Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Abhishek Meena confirmed that preparations for the SIR campaign are underway in his district, with physical verification slated to begin on June 15. He stated that all three Assembly constituencies in Rewari—Rewari, Kosli, and Bawal—are being covered. Meena called upon voters and political parties to extend their full support to the campaign.
From June 15, BLOs will visit households to distribute voter forms. Residents must fill out these forms and affix a recent passport-sized photograph. The forms will be collected during a subsequent visit by the BLO. If a voter is unavailable during the second visit, a third visit will be arranged to ensure completion of the process.
Meena also announced the activation of the voter helpline number 1950 to assist citizens with any queries related to the SIR campaign. He emphasized the administration's commitment to ensuring a flawless electoral roll and encouraged all eligible individuals to participate actively.
Both districts are geared up for the revision exercise, with officials urging citizens to cooperate with BLOs and take advantage of the helpline services for any clarifications.
