Yamunanagar Launches Major Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 1.09 Crore

In a significant move to enhance urban infrastructure, MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone for four development works in Yamunanagar on Friday. The projects, with a total cost of approximately Rs 1.09 crore, are set to benefit residents in Wards 8 and 11, focusing on improving roads, drainage systems, and public parks.

Key Projects and Their Financial Allocation

The development initiatives include multiple infrastructure upgrades aimed at boosting the quality of life in the twin cities. Mayor Suman Bahamani detailed the specific projects and their costs during the ceremony.

  • Road and Drainage System in Ward 8: A new road and drainage system will be constructed from house numbers 313 to 319 in Ward 8, with an estimated cost of Rs 31.19 lakh. This project aims to improve connectivity and prevent waterlogging in the area.
  • New Road in Model Town: A fresh road will be built from Maya Ram's fruit shop to Ghanshyam Dass Malik's house in Model Town, allocated Rs 17.98 lakh. This is expected to enhance local transportation and accessibility.
  • Renovation of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Park: In Ward 11, Rs 17.33 lakh will be spent on renovating and beautifying Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Park. The project includes enhancing greenery, improving seating arrangements, and upgrading the park's aesthetics to provide a better recreational space for the community.
  • Paved Path in Ward 11: A paved path will be constructed in Ward 11 at a cost of Rs 42.76 lakh, facilitating safer and more convenient pedestrian movement.

Officials Emphasize Quality and Timely Completion

During the foundation stone-laying ceremony, MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and Mayor Suman Bahamani instructed officials from the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) to prioritize quality in all development works. They stressed the importance of completing the projects within the stipulated time frame to ensure that residents can benefit from these facilities as soon as possible.

Mayor Bahamani reiterated the MC's commitment to the overall development of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri, noting that development works are being carried out in every ward based on the needs of the people.
