Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday described the Central Zonal Council as a vital platform that will further strengthen the collective vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership by promoting cooperative federalism, coordinated development, and better inter-state coordination.
Yogi, who attended the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, stated that meaningful discussions were held on public welfare, good governance, and regional development. The meeting was chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and attended by chief ministers of four states.
The council serves as an important forum for dialogue and cooperation among states on issues of common interest, governance, security, and development. Among those present were Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on several key issues related to governance and public welfare, including the eradication of malnutrition, reducing school dropout rates, ensuring 100% conviction in sexual offense cases, and strengthening state-level cyber helplines. The discussions aimed to enhance coordination among states and the central government to achieve sustainable development goals.
Yogi emphasized that such platforms are essential for addressing regional challenges and fostering a spirit of collaboration. He reiterated the commitment of the Uttar Pradesh government to work closely with other states and the center to realize the dream of a developed India.
