Patna: Higher education minister Sanjay Singh Tiger on Friday reviewed the progress of departmental schemes and academic activities, with focus on the 211 new degree colleges being set up under the ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ programme. With academic sessions scheduled from 2026-27, the minister directed officials to prioritise appointments of principals and teachers, student enrolment and infrastructure development. District programme officers were asked to monitor operations of the new colleges.
He also ordered strict implementation of the academic calendar issued by the chancellor’s office and directed the department to create a monitoring system to regularise delayed sessions. Universities and colleges showing better performance will also be incentivised. The minister further directed implementation of the ‘Samarth’ system across universities and colleges to improve transparency and efficiency.
Meanwhile, education minister Mithilesh Tiwari reviewed school education projects and directed resolution of land issues for Kendriya Vidyalayas. He also said one model school with e-library and science labs would be developed in every block under Saat Nishchay-3.
Key Directives for New Colleges
The minister emphasized that all 211 new degree colleges must be ready for the 2026-27 academic session. He instructed officials to expedite the recruitment of principals and teaching staff, ensure timely student enrolment, and develop necessary infrastructure. District programme officers have been tasked with monitoring the progress of these institutions closely.
Academic Calendar Compliance
Strict adherence to the academic calendar issued by the chancellor's office has been mandated. A monitoring system will be established to regularize any delayed sessions, ensuring that academic activities proceed without disruption. Additionally, universities and colleges demonstrating superior performance will receive incentives to encourage excellence.
Samarth System Implementation
The minister directed the implementation of the ‘Samarth’ system across all universities and colleges in the state. This digital platform aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in administrative and academic processes, streamlining operations and improving governance.
School Education Reforms
Education minister Mithilesh Tiwari reviewed school education projects and directed the resolution of land issues for Kendriya Vidyalayas. Under the Saat Nishchay-3 programme, one model school equipped with an e-library and science laboratories will be developed in every block, aiming to provide quality education infrastructure at the grassroots level.
