Starting this Saturday, user fee payments at National Highway toll plazas across India will be processed solely through digital methods, specifically FASTag or Unified Payments Interface (UPI), as confirmed by an official statement cited by PTI. Exemptions Due to Model Code of Conduct
The transition to digital-only payments will not be implemented in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. This exemption is due to the Model Code of Conduct currently in effect for ongoing Assembly elections in these regions, ensuring compliance with electoral regulations.
