Haryana Takes Strong Action Against LPG Black Marketing Amid West Asia Tensions

In response to the ongoing energy crisis exacerbated by the West Asia conflict, Haryana has launched a rigorous crackdown on black marketing and illegal use of LPG cylinders. Over the past three weeks, authorities have registered eight FIRs and seized a total of 825 cylinders to curb illicit activities and ensure fair distribution.

Detailed Seizures and FIR Registrations Across Districts

According to a government official, the seizures have been widespread across multiple districts. Jhajjar led with 131 cylinders confiscated, followed by Mahendragarh with 109, Rohtak with 98, Ambala with 86, Gurugram with 75, Fatehabad with 71, Karnal with 44, Hisar with 39, and Bhiwani with 21, among others. In terms of legal action, seven FIRs have been filed in Faridabad and one in Sonipat, with three vehicles also seized during the operation.

Government Assurance on LPG Supply Stability

Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Rajesh Nagar, addressed concerns on Tuesday, assuring that there is no shortage of domestic LPG supply in the state. He provided data to support this claim: in the last six days, oil marketing companies have supplied 61,034 domestic LPG cylinders of 14.2 kg, and the current stock at bottling plants stands at a robust 982,212 domestic cylinders.

Commercial LPG Supply and Stock Levels

Regarding commercial LPG, the official reported that over the past 25 days, 848 commercial cylinders of 19 kg have been supplied. The stock at bottling plants for commercial cylinders is currently at 179,566, indicating adequate reserves to meet demand despite the geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

This crackdown highlights Haryana's proactive measures to prevent exploitation during the energy crisis, ensuring that essential supplies remain accessible to all citizens without disruption.
