Hubballi Prepares for Major Housing Distribution Event

Hubballi will host a significant housing distribution program under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana on January 24. This event aims to fulfill homeownership dreams for economically weaker and middle-income groups.

Event Details and Preparations

The program will take place at 11 am on Mantur Road in Hubballi. District minister Santosh Lad confirmed the arrangements during a preparatory review meeting in Dharwad on Monday. He emphasized the government's strong commitment to public welfare schemes.

Lad directed district administration, police department, and municipal authorities to coordinate effectively. He stressed the need for a smooth event execution.

Beneficiary Numbers and Distribution

In Dharwad district alone, authorities have sanctioned 2,169 houses under PMAY. The event will distribute title deeds to approximately 3,000 beneficiaries from Dharwad district.

Beneficiaries from Dharwad, Gadag, and Haveri districts will symbolically receive houses during the function. Participants from four districts are expected to attend.

Statewide Housing Initiative

Across Karnataka, the government will distribute 42,345 houses simultaneously in 28 districts. Housing minister Zameer Ahmed Khan provided detailed statistics about the program.

Karnataka has sanctioned 1,80,253 houses under PMAY. Construction work has begun on 1,29,986 houses, with 86,651 houses already completed.

In the second phase, 42,345 houses across 28 districts are ready for inauguration. These houses are being built with special grants from the chief minister.

Beneficiary Categories and Political Presence

Of the 42,345 houses, authorities have allotted 20,312 houses to SC/ST beneficiaries. They have assigned 22,033 houses to beneficiaries from other categories.

Minister Khan emphasized special care to ensure beneficiaries face no inconvenience. He highlighted the importance of a smooth distribution process.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, chief minister Siddaramaiah, and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar will attend the function. Other cabinet ministers and local representatives will also be present.

The event represents a major step in providing affordable housing across Karnataka. It demonstrates the government's ongoing efforts to support economically weaker sections through systematic welfare schemes.
