J&K Announces Summer Vacations for Schools Amid Heatwave

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced summer vacations for schools falling under the Summer Zone of the Jammu Division as several districts continue to reel under intense heatwave conditions. The ongoing heatwave has significantly affected daily activities across several parts of the Jammu region, prompting the administration to act swiftly.

Heatwave Prompts Precautionary Measures

Authorities have also advised parents and students to remain cautious during the vacation period and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during afternoon hours. Residents have been urged to stay hydrated and follow safety precautions as high temperatures are expected to continue over the coming days.

Officials emphasized that the decision was taken purely in the interest of student welfare, and all schools are expected to comply with the revised schedule. The government has also directed schools to ensure that any pending academic activities are adjusted accordingly.
