Rajya Sabha MP Urges Special Package for Punjab Farmers Hit by Unseasonal Rains
Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney has made a strong appeal to the Union government, urging the immediate announcement of a special compensation package for Punjab farmers who are facing severe losses due to recent unseasonal rains, hailstorms, and strong winds. The MP stressed that the magnitude of this crisis is beyond the state's capacity to handle alone. He pointed out that farmers are still reeling from the devastating kharif floods of 2025, and many have yet to receive adequate compensation for those losses, compounding their current distress.
