NHAI Announces Revised Toll Tax Rates for Didarganj Plaza on NH-30
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented a revision in toll tax rates across various categories of vehicles at multiple plazas. This adjustment specifically impacts the Didarganj toll plaza located on NH-30, which connects Patna to Bakhtiyarpur. Starting from the new financial year 2026-27, vehicles passing through this plaza will be subject to higher charges.
Details of the Toll Rate Increases
According to toll manager Prabhakar Singh, the revised rates, effective from April 1, will see an increase ranging from approximately 3.7% to 7.5%. The Didarganj toll plaza, which manages an average daily traffic of around 13,000 vehicles, will implement these changes as follows:
- Light Vehicles (Cars, Jeeps, Vans): One-way toll rises from Rs135 to Rs140. The 24-hour return pass increases from Rs200 to Rs215, while monthly passes go up from Rs4,475 to Rs4,730.
- Light Commercial Vehicles: One-way fares adjust from Rs205 to Rs215, with 24-hour passes climbing to Rs325 and monthly passes to Rs7,220.
- Buses and Trucks: Single journey charges move from Rs410 to Rs435, and the 24-hour pass option is raised to Rs650.
- Heavy Machinery (3-6 Axles): One-way toll increases from Rs620 to Rs655, with the 24-hour pass rising to Rs985.
- Very Heavy Vehicles (7+ Axles): One-way toll goes up from Rs815 to Rs860.
Exemptions and Available Facilities
Certain categories of vehicles have been exempted from the toll tax under this revision. These include government vehicles, army vehicles, ambulances, hearse vehicles, police vehicles, and postal department vehicles. Additionally, the Didarganj toll plaza offers several amenities for travelers, such as a 24-hour ambulance service, a crane for removing accident vehicles, drinking water, public toilets, and first aid facilities.
The revision aims to align with infrastructure maintenance and development costs, ensuring continued service quality on this busy national highway route.
