NITI Aayog Approves Rs 1.55 Crore for Women's Empowerment Centre in NTR District
In a significant move to boost rural development, NITI Aayog has sanctioned Rs 1.55 crore for the establishment of the Rural Innovations Incubation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship (RISE) centre at Ibrahimpatnam in NTR district. This initiative is designed to empower women and transform them into successful entrepreneurs from rural backgrounds.
Supporting Swarnandhra Vision and One Family - One Entrepreneur Initiative
The RISE centre, located in Guntupalli within the Ibrahimpatnam mandal, is part of the district administration's efforts to achieve the Swarnandhra Vision @2047 goal and the One Family - One Entrepreneur initiative. NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha highlighted that this centre is one of two aspirational blocks in the district, focusing on innovative strategies for economic growth.
Dr Lakshmisha explained that NITI Aayog recognized the RISE centre's action plan, which is specifically crafted to enhance women's economic empowerment and expand self-employment opportunities. A detailed report on the centre was submitted to NITI Aayog, and after thorough review by a special committee, the financial support was approved.
Utilization of Funds for Skill Development and Infrastructure
The allocated funds will be utilized for several key activities aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among women. These include:
- Conducting AI-based skill surveys to identify training needs
- Implementing skill development and training programs
- Creating necessary infrastructure to support entrepreneurial ventures
Dr Lakshmisha emphasized that this financial boost is particularly beneficial for self-help group women in the Ibrahimpatnam mandal, providing them with the resources and training needed to succeed in various fields.
Future Plans and Government Support
On the occasion of the funding announcement, the district collector revealed that more creative programs will be launched in alignment with the state government's "Nitya Nutanam – Vinutnam" slogan. The NTR district team is committed to ensuring that women seize opportunities across all sectors, furthering the goal of inclusive and sustainable development.
This initiative underscores the government's dedication to rural empowerment and economic self-sufficiency, setting a precedent for similar projects nationwide.
