Addressing a mass marriage ceremony of 200 daughters in Ashta virtually, he urged citizens to reduce unnecessary wedding expenses and utilize resources for family welfare, particularly ensuring proper education for daughters.
CM Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana Achievements
Dr. Yadav highlighted that from December 2023 to April 2026, a total of 1.70 lakh couples have been married under the CM Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana. He stated that the scheme aims to provide financial assistance to families for their daughters' weddings, thereby reducing the burden of expenses and promoting social harmony.
Call for Social Responsibility
The Chief Minister stressed that every parent has a responsibility to ensure their daughters receive proper education. He encouraged families to prioritize spending on education and health over lavish weddings. Dr. Yadav also praised the participating families for choosing mass marriage ceremonies, which he described as a step towards a more equitable society.
He further noted that mass marriages not only save costs but also foster a sense of community and collective celebration. By avoiding ostentatious displays, families can set an example for others to follow, ultimately curbing the culture of excessive spending on weddings.
The event in Ashta was organized by a local charitable trust, with support from the state government. Dr. Yadav's virtual address was broadcast to multiple venues, where hundreds of couples tied the knot in a simple yet dignified ceremony. The government provided each couple with essential household items and a financial grant as part of the scheme.
