Rajasthan Orders 43K Piped Gas Connections in 45 Days

Jaipur: Chief secretary V Srinivas Thursday directed City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies operating in Rajasthan to provide Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) connections to nearly 43,000 households within the next 45 days, setting a target of around 1,000 new connections daily.

Meeting Highlights

Chairing a meeting of the state-level CGD committee at the secretariat, Srinivas said areas where DPNG infrastructure has already been laid should be prioritised for conversion from LPG cylinders to piped gas connections. Representatives of all 13 CGD companies participated in the meeting.

He said both the Centre and the state govt are focusing on creating LPG-free zones by promoting piped gas connectivity in households. Stressing the need for greater public awareness, Srinivas instructed CGD firms to run social media campaigns and organise outreach camps to encourage residents to shift to DPNG services.
