UP Ministers Conduct Aerial Survey to Assess Crop Damage from Unseasonal Rainfall
In response to recent unseasonal rainfall that has severely impacted agricultural areas, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi carried out an extensive aerial survey on Wednesday. The ministers inspected nine districts across the state to evaluate the damage inflicted on rabi crops, following specific directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Comprehensive District Assessment
The aerial survey covered the districts of Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Amethi, Sultanpur, Fatehpur, Unnao, and Lucknow. These regions were identified as the worst affected by the unexpected rainfall, which has threatened the current rabi crop season. The ministers' mission was to gather firsthand information about the extent of the damage to facilitate timely government intervention.
Government Directives for Immediate Action
This proactive move comes just one day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the ongoing survey and compensation efforts. During that review, the CM emphasized the urgency of conducting thorough on-ground assessments of crop damage. He instructed officials to expedite these evaluations to ensure that compensation could be disbursed to affected farmers without delay.
The primary objective is to complete the crop survey promptly and submit a detailed report to the government, enabling the swift release of relief funds to those in need.
Direct Engagement with Farmers and Officials
During their visit, Deputy CM Pathak and Minister Shahi took the opportunity to interact directly with local farmers. They informed the agricultural community about the various steps the government is taking to provide relief and support during this challenging period. This engagement aimed to reassure farmers and keep them updated on the relief process.
Additionally, the ministers held crucial review meetings in Azamgarh and Fatehpur districts to assess the ground situation more comprehensively. These meetings were attended by key officials, including District Magistrates, Chief Development Officers, Deputy Directors of Agriculture, and other concerned personnel.
