UPNEDA Unveils Dedicated Portal for PM Surya Ghar Scheme Monitoring
The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has officially launched a specialized portal to oversee the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme. This digital platform, inaugurated on Monday by UPNEDA Director Indrajit Singh, aims to revolutionize the monitoring process for rooftop solar installations across the state.
Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency
According to UPNEDA officials, the new portal is designed to significantly improve transparency, speed, and accountability in the execution of the scheme. It enables real-time tracking of every critical stage, including:
- Application submission and approval processes
- Installation of rooftop solar systems
- Payment disbursements and financial transactions
This system allows beneficiaries to easily check the status of their applications, while officials can monitor progress with greater accuracy and efficiency.
National Recognition and Technical Support
The innovative model developed by UPNEDA has garnered appreciation from the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. In fact, the central ministry has requested technical support from UPNEDA to develop a similar portal at the national level.
To facilitate this collaboration, Director Indrajit Singh has established a special committee that will assist the central government with all technical requirements, potentially setting a benchmark for renewable energy initiatives across India.
Significant Progress Under PM Surya Ghar Scheme
Uttar Pradesh has made remarkable strides under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme, with more than 480,000 residential rooftop solar systems installed to date. This initiative represents a crucial component of the state government's broader digital governance efforts, aligning with national goals for renewable energy adoption.
