CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates STPI Centre in Gorakhpur, Highlights Technology's Role in Development

Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking at the inauguration of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), emphasized that embracing technology is essential to remain competitive in today's global landscape. He stated that technology can significantly accelerate development and transform growth into sustained progress, marking a pivotal moment for the region's economic future.

Government's Commitment to Innovation and Self-Reliance

Adityanath acknowledged that technology adoption takes time, noting, "Technology takes a little time to arrive. It takes some time to convert innovation into research and development." However, he assured that the government is actively working to provide a platform for the ideas existing within the youth, aligning with the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative. He highlighted that post-2014, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, initiatives have created platforms for talent to thrive, addressing previous governments' failures in converting scale into skill.

Boost for Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Startup Ecosystem

The CM termed the STPI Gorakhpur centre a major boost for eastern Uttar Pradesh, offering a plug-and-play model that allows startups to function without infrastructure concerns. He revealed that over 20,000 startups are currently operational in Uttar Pradesh, with nearly half led by women entrepreneurs, showcasing a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial spirit.

He added that discussions with Japan, which is at an advanced stage in this technology, are underway to move the program forward collaboratively.
