A tragic incident unfolded in Kozhikode where a 10-year-old boy was found hanging from a pillar at his residence and was later declared dead at a hospital on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sreerag A P, a resident of Balussery.

Boy Found Hanging at Home

Relatives discovered the boy hanging from a pillar on the portico of the house. Although the cloth from which he was suspended was cut and the child was rushed to a medical facility, his life could not be saved. While initial reports suggested that the boy may have died after being accidentally strangled while playing, the police have launched a detailed investigation into the exact cause of death.

Another Incident: Father-Daughter Suicide Attempt

In a separate and equally distressing event, a 9-year-old girl sustained burn injuries after her father attempted suicide along with her by setting them on fire. The father has been identified as Vinesh Kumar, 48, a resident of Kozhikode. His daughter Amegha suffered burn injuries in the incident.

According to police reports, Vinesh Kumar poured a flammable liquid on himself and his daughter inside an establishment he owns and then set them ablaze. Hearing the girl's screams, residents in the vicinity rushed to the scene and managed to rescue her. The father succumbed to his injuries.
