A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her close relative in Panipat and thrown on the roadside near Ugrakheri village late Thursday night. The Haryana State Women Commission took suo-motu cognisance of the incident and sought a report within five days.
Police Action
Taking serious note of the incident, Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh directed the registration of a case under the POCSO Act and the arrest of the accused. The case was initially investigated by Chandnibagh police but later transferred to Samalkha police station.
Victim's Condition
The minor girl was admitted to Civil Hospital, where her condition is stated to be stable. Members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) visited the hospital to counsel the victim. Savita Arya, Chairperson of Nari Tu Narayani social organisation, said the girl was in the ICU and her condition was serious.
Details of the Crime
According to available information, the girl was found lying on the roadside in a serious condition late Thursday night. Two passersby stopped to help and informed the police. A police team arrived and admitted the girl to the hospital.
Savita Arya revealed that the girl hailed from Uttar Pradesh and was living at a poultry farm in Panipat. Her uncle (fufa) took her on Thursday and gave her five tablets. The minor disclosed that after consuming the tablets, she became unconscious, and her uncle raped her before leaving her on the roadside. She also stated that her uncle had raped her previously.

Bhupender Singh, Superintendent of Police, Panipat, confirmed that a case has been registered under the POCSO Act at Samalkha police station and the accused has been arrested. Further action will be taken accordingly.
