Early on Thursday morning, the team apprehended Kumud Pradhan, a 38-year-old native of Odisha, with an initial haul of 3.5 kilograms of cannabis. This arrest marked a crucial breakthrough in the investigation, highlighting the vigilance of the railway police in monitoring suspicious activities.
Expanded Search and Additional Recovery
Following the arrest, the GRP team conducted thorough searches across the railway platforms and adjoining areas of Ernakulam South station. These meticulous efforts led to the discovery of an additional 9 kilograms of cannabis, bringing the total seizure to 12 kilograms.
