In a significant crackdown on illegal gambling activities, Badgonda police arrested 15 individuals allegedly involved in gambling and seized Rs 1.76 lakh during a raid conducted in an open field near Choral dam in Rampuriya village, Mhow. The operation was carried out based on a tip-off that several people were engaged in gambling using playing cards in a field near the residence of Mahesh Ginawa.
Police Action and Seizures
Mhow SDOP Lalit Singh Sikarwar informed media persons that acting on the inputs, a police team led by Badgonda police station in-charge Prakash Waskale and Kishanganj police station in-charge Amit Kumar raided the spot. The SDOP stated that the team cordoned off the area and apprehended 15 individuals, who are residents of Ujjain, Mhow, Indore, and Dewas districts. From the spot, the police seized Rs 1,76,260 in cash, four decks of playing cards, 15 mobile phones, two air guns, four cars, and three motorcycles that were used in the gambling activity.
Escapees and Legal Action
Three persons—Rahul Kadam of Mhow, Mahesh Ginawa of Rampuriya, and Chandraprakash Kaithwas of Mhow—managed to flee the scene during the raid. A case has been registered against all the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Gambling Act. The police are conducting further investigations to apprehend the absconding individuals.
