17-Year-Old Stabbed by Friend in Ghaziabad Dies

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed by his friend in Ghaziabad's Khoda Colony on Thursday evening following a heated argument. The teenager, identified as Surya Pratap, succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon at a hospital.

The exact motive behind the multiple stabbing remains unclear until the arrest of the accused, Asad, who fled the scene. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans-Hindon and City) Dhawal Jaiswal stated, "The reason behind the murder is not yet known. The accused is absconding, and several teams have been formed to arrest him."

Surya, a resident of Navneet Vihar in Khoda Colony, was a Class XI student at a private school in the area. An FIR was registered at Khoda police station based on a complaint filed by Yash, the deceased's elder brother.

According to Yash, around 3:30 pm on Thursday, Asad attacked Surya with the intent to kill near Sharma Dairy in Khoda Colony. Yash recounted, "My brother was with his friends Ayush and Vicky when they encountered Asad in the lane. He started quarreling with my brother, hurling abuses. Asad stabbed Surya four times in the abdomen with the intention of killing him. Upon receiving the information, we rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday."

Vicky, another friend of Surya, reported that a youth from a minority community living nearby had invited them to his place on Bakrid. Surya, Vicky, and Ayush arrived outside the accused's house. Asad asked Surya, "Have you ever seen a goat being slaughtered?" Surya replied, "No." Asad then said, "Come, we will show you." Surya refused and began to leave, at which point the accused started abusing him, Vicky told the police.

Ayush added that when he objected to the abuses, Asad stabbed Surya multiple times in the stomach with a knife before escaping. Ayush and Vicky informed Surya's family and took him to a nearby hospital. The family later transferred him to Fortis Hospital in Noida, where he died.

A senior police officer revealed that eight months ago, a scuffle had occurred between Surya and Asad, leading to physical fights. However, they had recently reconciled and resumed talking terms.

DCP Jaiswal confirmed that an FIR was initially registered under Sections 109 (attempt to murder) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Khoda police station. Following the victim's death, the case will be converted to murder charges.

"A heavy police force has been deployed at Khoda police station to maintain law and order. We are also checking CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the accused," Jaiswal added.
