Chaos Erupts at Midnight Wedding Celebration

A joyous wedding celebration turned into a scene of terror at Ludhiana's Bath Castle resort when two groups of guests opened fire on each other, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. The incident occurred around midnight on Saturday at the popular wedding venue located off Pakhowal Road.

According to ACP (south) Harjinder Singh, both groups involved in the violent clash had been invited by the groom. What began as an argument quickly escalated into relentless gunfire that sent approximately 20 rounds echoing through the resort, creating panic among the wedding guests.

Victims and Immediate Aftermath

The shooting claimed the lives of a woman and a man, while another man sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The continuous firing caused widespread fear among attendees, who scrambled to evacuate the venue as bullets flew.

Ludhiana DCP Rupinder Singh confirmed the preliminary investigation revealed the extensive nature of the shooting. "We are identifying them," he stated regarding the perpetrators, indicating the ongoing police investigation.

Legal Actions and Responsibility

In a significant development, Ludhiana police commissioner Swapan Sharma announced that both the groom and the marriage palace owner are facing legal action. The commissioner emphasized that the resort owner violated security protocols by permitting armed individuals to enter the wedding venue.

"The marriage palace owner flouted the norms by allowing people carrying weapons inside the venue," Commissioner Sharma stated firmly. Police have initiated proceedings by registering a First Information Report (FIR) at the Sadar police station, marking the formal beginning of the legal process in this tragic case.

The incident has raised serious questions about security measures at large social gatherings and wedding venues in the region, with authorities promising strict action against those responsible for the violence and security lapses.
