Gurgaon Woman Dies After Jumping from DLF-3 Building Rooftop
A tragic incident unfolded in Gurgaon on Tuesday morning when a 22-year-old woman, identified as Manmeet Kaur, died after jumping from the rooftop of a residential building in the DLF-3 area. The event occurred at approximately 11:30 AM, according to police officials.
Details of the Incident and Police Response
Manmeet Kaur, a native of Dehradun in Uttarakhand, was working with a private company at the time of her death. Police were informed of the incident by the hospital where she was taken after the fall. Despite immediate medical attention, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Authorities conducted a postmortem on Wednesday under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Following the examination, the body was handed over to her family for last rites. The police officer stated that no case was registered as the family did not raise any suspicion of foul play or file a complaint.
Background and Possible Triggers
Investigations revealed that Manmeet had been living with a friend in Gurgaon since December 2025, having met at a previous workplace. Sources indicated that a few days before the incident, the two argued after the friend advised her to focus on her career, leading to a quarrel.
Following the dispute, Manmeet moved to her brother's rented accommodation in Sector 17. Her brother later visited her rented place in DLF Phase III to mediate between her and the friend. However, days later, she took the extreme step by jumping from the fifth floor, which served as the building's rooftop.
The officer confirmed, "She jumped from the fifth floor, which is the rooftop of the building." The police have ruled out any criminal angle based on the family's statements and lack of complaints.
