Hisar: Three people were killed and 28 others injured when an overcrowded private bus overturned into a field near Bhodi village on the Fatehabad-Tohana road on Monday morning. The 52-seater bus was carrying over 60 passengers from Fatehabad to Tohana when it lost control at a sharp turn.

Rescue Operations

Nearby residents broke the bus windows to rescue trapped passengers and took the injured to Tohana civil hospital. Police identified the victims as Home Guard Balwinder Singh, 16-year-old student Bohati Devi, and Moni Devi (70).

Allegations and Protest

Alleging overspeeding and overcrowding, locals blocked the highway to demand action against private operators. Protesters said the student was forced to hang near the bus entrance due to a lack of space. Passengers alleged the bus conductor was driving the vehicle instead of the driver and failed to slow down at the turn.
