3 of Family Booked for Assault in Nakodar

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked three members of a family for allegedly assaulting a villager. The accused have been identified as Manni of Malarri village and his two brothers, Sunni and Mandeep. Jaspal, a resident of the same village, lodged a complaint stating that the accused assaulted him, causing serious injuries, and also threatened him with dire consequences. A case has been registered based on his statement.

Four Drug Peddlers Arrested

In a separate operation, the Nakodar police arrested a man for selling intoxicating tablets. Sixteen tablets were seized from the possession of Balwindar Singh of Uggi village. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him. Additionally, the Shahkot police arrested Dhiraj Kumar, alias Titu, of Pati Haveli, Malsian village, with 20 intoxicating tablets. The Bilga police also arrested Balwant Singh and Balkar Singh of Nawan Khehra Bet village in Ludhiana, recovering 70 intoxicating tablets from their possession.

Couple Nabbed for Assault

The Lohian Khas police have arrested a couple for assaulting a villager. The accused have been identified as Gian Singh of Jania Chahal village and his wife Gurjit Kaur. They were taken into custody after a complaint was filed against them.
