In a dramatic turn of events, Jhunjhunu police on Saturday apprehended three most-wanted criminals who had resorted to begging aboard a moving train to evade capture. Each of the accused carried a substantial reward of Rs 50,000 on their heads, announced just two days prior to their arrest.
The Dramatic Arrest Operation
The breakthrough came during an intensive investigation into the murder of history-sheeter Dennis Bawaria. According to District SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay, the identified accused are Hitesh Meel of Basant Vihar, Prashant alias Pokhar Jat of Jeet ki Dhani, and Ajay alias Sandeep Jat of Panne Singh ki Dhani.
Police authorities revealed that all three men had been absconding since allegedly committing the murder on the night before Dhanteras. The investigation suggests the killing was executed to strengthen their criminal association with wanted fugitives Mandeep alias Madiya and Deepak Malsariya.
From Criminals to Beggars: The Desperate Escape
Officials described how the police crackdown systematically dismantled the support network of the accused. The relentless operation against people providing shelter to the trio left them completely isolated.
They were left without hideouts, financial resources, or any support system after their last known shelters were raided by police teams. This forced the accused into constant movement and ultimately into desperate measures for survival.
Police disclosed that the fugitives had been surviving by begging at temples, railway stations, and even in the red-light area of Madhya Pradesh. By the time of their detention, they had adopted disguises wearing tattered clothing to avoid suspicion and had been begging for approximately 20-25 days.
Investigation Breakthrough and Ongoing Manhunt
The announcement of the reward by Jaipur Range IG significantly accelerated search efforts. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a specialized police team intercepted the three men on a moving train and arrested them without any resistance.
With these crucial arrests, police have now detained 12 people connected to the murder case, including individuals who allegedly assisted the accused in their escape. However, the manhunt continues for Mandeep alias Madiya, Deepak Malsariya, and another suspect who remains untraced.
The case highlights how effective police pressure can force even the most hardened criminals into desperate situations, ultimately leading to their capture through unconventional means.
