In a scene straight out of a crime thriller, the quiet night in Delhi's Rohini sector was shattered by intense gunfire as police teams engaged in a deadly confrontation with four of Bihar's most dangerous gangsters. The encounter, which lasted nearly an hour, resulted in all four criminals being neutralized on the spot.
The Dramatic Showdown
According to police officials, the operation was set in motion based on specific intelligence about the gangsters' movements in the capital. A special team from the Delhi Police's Special Cell had been tracking the four criminals for several days before finally cornering them in Rohini around midnight.
"The moment we attempted to intercept their vehicle, they opened indiscriminate fire," revealed a senior police officer involved in the operation. "Our teams had no choice but to retaliate in self-defense."
Identifying the Fallen Gangsters
The four deceased have been identified as:
- Vicky Tillu - Wanted in multiple murder and extortion cases
- Rohit Kumar - Prime suspect in several kidnapping incidents
- Rahul Kumar - Known arms supplier and contract killer
- Sumit - Involved in interstate robberies and carjackings
All four criminals were on the most-wanted list of Bihar Police and had multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) registered against them in various police stations across Bihar and neighboring states.
Weapons and Evidence Recovered
Following the encounter, police teams recovered a significant arsenal from the scene, including:
- Four sophisticated pistols
- Over two dozen live cartridges
- Stolen mobile phones and SIM cards
- Fake identity documents
- A stolen vehicle used by the criminals
"The recovery of these weapons proves they were well-armed and prepared for violent confrontation," noted the investigating officer at the scene.
Police Operation and Aftermath
The entire area was immediately cordoned off following the shootout, with forensic teams arriving to collect evidence. Senior police officials, including Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HGS Dhaliwal, visited the encounter site to oversee the investigation.
Local residents reported hearing continuous gunfire for approximately 30-45 minutes during the peak of the confrontation. "It sounded like firecrackers at first, but then we realized it was something much more serious," shared a resident living near the encounter site.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and a magisterial inquiry has been initiated as per standard procedure in all police encounter cases. Police authorities have assured that the operation was conducted following all necessary protocols and was essential to maintain law and order in the capital region.
