A tragic incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district late Saturday night when four passengers, including three women and a child, were run over by a speeding train after they disembarked from another train due to a false fire alarm.

According to officials, the Udaipur Intercity Express, which had departed from Gwalior, made an emergency stop after rumors spread among passengers about a fire in one of its unreserved general coaches. Panic-stricken passengers began to hastily disembark and gather along the tracks.

At the same time, the Patalkot Express was passing on the adjacent line towards Dholpur. Some passengers who had stepped onto the tracks failed to notice the approaching train, resulting in four being hit and dying on the spot, officials confirmed.
