In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have recovered 53 stolen tyres and alloy wheels and arrested two individuals in connection with the thefts. The operation was carried out by the Crime Branch, which acted on a tip-off about a gang involved in stealing vehicle parts.

The police received intelligence regarding a gang that was stealing tyres and alloy wheels from vehicles parked in various parts of the city. A team was formed to track down the suspects. After surveillance, the police apprehended two men near the Karol Bagh area. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in multiple thefts.
Recovery of Stolen Items
The police recovered 53 tyres and alloy wheels from the possession of the accused. The stolen items were hidden in a godown in the Nabi Karim area. The estimated value of the recovered goods is around Rs 5 lakh. The police are trying to trace the owners of the stolen parts.
Modus Operandi
The accused used to target vehicles parked in isolated areas or during the night. They would remove the tyres and alloy wheels using basic tools. The stolen parts were then sold to scrap dealers or used in other vehicles. The police are investigating if the gang has any accomplices.
Arrests and Legal Action
The two arrested individuals have been identified as Ravi Kumar and Mohit Sharma, both residents of Delhi. They have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for theft and criminal conspiracy. The police are also looking into their previous criminal records.
