A six-year-old Class 1 student tragically passed away after collapsing on his school premises in Sagar taluk, Shivamogga district, on Saturday. The deceased child, Trilok Jain, was a resident of Kodanavalli village and had recently joined school on June 1.
Incident Details
According to school authorities, the incident occurred in the evening after classes had concluded for the day. Trilok was standing on the school playground, waiting to go home, when he suddenly collapsed. Teachers rushed to his assistance immediately and sprinkled water on his face. After briefly regaining consciousness, Trilok told the teachers that he needed to use the restroom. His friends accompanied him to the school toilet, but when he failed to come out for a long time, school staff went to check on him and found him lying unconscious inside.
Emergency Response
The school staff took the boy to a local private clinic, but no doctors were available at that time. The teachers then tried to arrange for an ambulance, but emergency medical transit could not reach them in time. Left with no other option, they arranged for an alternative private vehicle to rush him to a hospital in Kundapura. Tragically, the young boy breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
Family Background
Trilok was the son of Gautam Jain and Shilpa, who has been working as a guest teacher at the same government school for the past eight years. According to teacher Chandrappa Alur, Trilok had a pre-existing medical history of congenital heart complications. Speaking to TOI, Sagar BEO Sadananda Swamy confirmed that the boy’s mother also works as a guest teacher at the school. “As per the teacher’s information, the boy was battling a rare disease,” he said.
The cremation took place on Sunday. This tragic event has left the school community and the family in mourning.
