In a swift operation, Bhopal police have apprehended seven individuals linked to the shocking kidnapping and violent assault of two young men from Satna district. The victims were abducted from their own vehicle, brutally beaten, and robbed.
The Incident: A New Year's Day Nightmare
The terrifying sequence of events unfolded on January 1. According to police officials, Yogendra Singh (36) and Rahul Saket (31), both residents of the Rampur Baghelan area in Satna district, were targeted. The duo was allegedly kidnapped by four unidentified persons from their Bolero vehicle.
The accused then subjected the two youths to a severe assault. Before abandoning them, the perpetrators stole Rs 15,000 in cash and a mobile phone from the victims.
Police Launch Intensive Manhunt
Acting promptly on a complaint lodged on January 2, the police registered a formal case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A major search operation was immediately launched to track down the culprits.
Rampur Baghelan police formed four dedicated teams and conducted coordinated raids across multiple locations. These raids spanned the Maihar, Amarpatan, Nadan Dehat, and Bela areas.
Arrests, Confessions, and Recovery
The police's relentless efforts paid off, leading to the arrest of seven accused from different hideouts. During questioning, the arrested individuals confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The investigation also led to significant recoveries linked to the offence. Police seized the following items:
- Two motorcycles
- One scooter
- Rs 6,500 in cash (part of the stolen amount)
- The mobile phone used in the commission of the crime
All the arrested accused were subsequently produced before a local court, which ordered them to be sent to jail. Police highlighted that the entire operation was carried out under the close supervision of senior officers, with multiple teams working in tandem to ensure the swift tracking and arrest of the accused.
