In a horrific incident in the remote tribal village of Gadh Boriyad in Naswadi taluka, a 75-year-old woman was murdered in her home, with the perpetrators subsequently hacking off her feet to steal her silver anklets valued at over Rs 2 lakh.

Details of the Crime

Dashri Bhil, a widow, lived alone in a hut while her two sons resided in nearby houses. According to police, the attackers entered her dwelling from the rear in the early hours of Wednesday while she was asleep. They struck her on the head with a blunt object, causing instant death.

Attempt to Steal Ornaments

Investigators revealed that the assailants attempted to remove the silver anklets from her legs. When they failed to do so, they severed both her feet to obtain the ornaments. The crime remained unnoticed for several hours, as Bhil did not step out of her house all day.
