In a tragic incident in Anandpura Badera village under the Ajnar police station area, an 85-year-old man allegedly killed his 36-year-old son on Thursday evening after the son, in a drunken state, beat his 80-year-old mother. Police have taken the accused, identified as Nanhe Bhai, into custody for questioning.
Incident Details
The deceased, Bhagwat, returned home heavily intoxicated and allegedly assaulted his mother, Rambhi, when she advised him against excessive drinking. According to police, Bhagwat arrived home on Thursday evening in an intoxicated condition. When Rambhi forbade him from drinking, he became furious, threw her to the ground, and began beating her.
Father's Intervention
Hearing her screams, Nanhe Bhai, who was nearby, tried to stop his son, but Bhagwat persisted. Police said Nanhe Bhai then struck Bhagwat on the head from behind with a heavy stick, causing him to fall bleeding. As Bhagwat lay writhing on the ground, Nanhe Bhai allegedly picked up a heavy stone and struck Bhagwat on the head again.
Death and Aftermath
Bhagwat's head split open, and he lost consciousness. Neighbors who heard the cries took him, covered in blood, to the Community Health Centre Jaitpur, where doctors declared him dead. In-charge Station House Officer Dharmendra Kumar confirmed receiving information about a father killing his son in the village.
Background of Abuse
Police revealed that Bhagwat was heavily addicted to alcohol and frequently fought and physically abused his parents. Rambhi, crying, said that her daughter-in-law, Premvati, whom Bhagwat married 10 years ago, left for her parental home after only 3-4 visits due to Bhagwat's habit of beating and abusing her. Even after his wife left, Bhagwat continued spending all his earnings from hard labor on alcohol.
Legal Proceedings
Police have sent the body for post-mortem after completing the punchnama. They said the matter is being investigated thoroughly, and lawful legal action will be taken.
