In the first operation, the ACO's Mirzapur unit successfully apprehended a junior engineer who was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. The sting was initiated based on a formal complaint filed by Deepak Kumar, a resident of Prayagraj, who accused the engineer of demanding money to authorize payment for a contract work he had completed.
A specialized team, under the leadership of Inspector Anil Kumar Chaurasia, orchestrated the trap at Bajasagar Colony in Mirzapur. The operation culminated with the accused being captured in the act of receiving the illicit cash, leading to his immediate arrest and custody.
Azamgarh Operation: Two Officials Held for Rs 10,000 Bribe
Simultaneously, in a separate and coordinated effort, the ACO's Azamgarh unit arrested two government officials for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. This action followed a complaint by Amit Kumar Yadav, who reported that the accused were soliciting money to process bills related to various development projects.
The trap was meticulously set by a team headed by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar Paswan. Both officials were apprehended while accepting the bribe, and they have since been formally arrested. Police authorities have confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused to ensure accountability.
