Agra Police Crack Murder Case Using Tattoo Evidence, Arrest Three
In a significant breakthrough, Agra district police have arrested three individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a 39-year-old man, whose body was strangled and then charred in an attempt to destroy evidence. The investigation, which hinged on a crucial tattoo found on the victim's hand, has led to the swift apprehension of the suspects.
Discovery of the Crime and Initial Complaint
The case came to light on April 2 when Shivcharan Singh filed a formal complaint with the authorities, reporting that his brother, Lokendra Singh, aged 39, had gone missing under suspicious circumstances. Agra DCP (West) Aditya provided details, stating that on the same day, a half-burnt body was discovered, which was later identified as Lokendra Singh through forensic examination and distinctive markings.
Investigation Reveals Illicit Affair and Conspiracy
Police investigations uncovered a shocking motive behind the murder. It was revealed that Lokendra Singh's wife was allegedly involved in an illicit affair with one of the accused, Mahesh Prajapati, a 35-year-old local fruit seller. According to authorities, Lokendra had recently become aware of this affair, prompting the accused, along with his wife, to devise a conspiracy to eliminate him to avoid exposure and potential repercussions.
Execution of the Crime and Arrests
On April 1, Mahesh Prajapati and his co-accused, Dharmveer, lured Lokendra Singh to an isolated location near Saiyyan bridge. The trio reportedly consumed alcohol together before the crime was committed. DCP Aditya elaborated, "The accused have been arrested under sections 103(1) for murder and 238 for destroying evidence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, police successfully recovered two mobile phones and the clothes worn by the perpetrators during the crime, which are key pieces of evidence."
Role of Tattoo in Solving the Case
A pivotal element in solving this heinous crime was the tattoo on Lokendra Singh's hand. Police officials emphasized that this distinctive marking played a crucial role in identifying the victim and linking the evidence to the suspects. The tattoo helped corroborate witness statements and forensic findings, enabling authorities to piece together the timeline of events and establish a clear motive for the murder.
The arrest of the three individuals marks a swift response by Agra police, highlighting their commitment to tackling serious crimes in the region. Further investigations are ongoing to ensure all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined and justice is served for the victim and his family.
