The victim has been identified as Kamlesh Panakhaniya, a resident whose wife, Nehal, filed a formal complaint with authorities. According to her statement, Kamlesh left home for work around 6:30 AM. Tragically, around 9:45 AM, while he was traveling from Thaltej to Sarkhej on the bridge, a car violently knocked him down near the Shapath-I area.

Kamlesh sustained grievous injuries to his head, chest, and waist, along with multiple abrasions on his arms and legs. He was first rushed to a government hospital in Sola before being shifted to a private medical facility for advanced treatment. Doctors reported that he suffered significant head trauma and fractures, remaining in a semi-conscious condition following the traumatic event.

Accused Driver Arrested Hours Later

Police moved swiftly and managed to arrest the accused driver on Friday night. The individual has been identified as Rohan Patel, a 31-year-old metal trader who resides in Chandramani Society near Surdhara Circle in Thaltej. Authorities have registered a case against him for rash and negligent driving causing injury.

Multiple eyewitnesses provided chilling details of the incident. They reported that the car did not stop after colliding with the two-wheeler but instead continued driving with the bike stuck in its grille for several metres.
