Ahmedabad man files complaint after attack by wife's family

A violent family dispute in Ahmedabad's Sarkhej area took a brutal turn, leading to a serious assault case being filed with the police. A 28-year-old man has accused his wife and three of her relatives of attacking him with iron pipes, resulting in significant injuries.

Roadside Argument Escalates to Violence

The incident unfolded on Friday when the complainant was returning home after attending a family event. Near his residence, he spotted his wife sitting on a chair by the roadside. An exchange of words quickly ensued between the couple.

The husband stated that he requested his wife not to send any mediators if she had no intention of returning home. This remark allegedly infuriated his wife, leading to a heated verbal argument where she began abusing him.

Relatives Arrive and Launch Brutal Assault

The situation deteriorated rapidly when the wife's relatives arrived at the scene. According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Sarkhej police station, the relatives did not attempt to calm the situation. Instead, they allegedly launched a physical attack on the husband.

The complainant claimed the relatives used iron pipes as weapons to beat him. The assault caused injuries to his head and back. Following the attack, police officials were called to the location to intervene and control the situation.

Medical Treatment and Police Action

The injured husband was promptly taken to Sola Civil Hospital for necessary medical treatment. His condition was stabilized after receiving care for the wounds sustained during the assault.

In his formal complaint, the 28-year-old man has named his wife and three of her relatives as the accused. The police have registered a case against them based on the allegations of assault and abuse. The Sarkhej police are now investigating the matter further to ascertain the complete sequence of events and the roles of each individual involved.
