Ahmedabad School Staff Misbehave with Elderly Teacher, DEO Investigates
Ahmedabad School Staff Misbehave with Elderly Teacher, DEO Probe

A disturbing video from IDP School in Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, went viral on social media, sparking widespread public outrage. The clip allegedly shows two female staff members speaking harshly and behaving disrespectfully towards an elderly man.

DEO Conducts Immediate Enquiry

Taking the matter seriously, Ahmedabad City District Education Officer (DEO) Rohit Chaudhary visited the school to conduct an immediate enquiry. However, the situation escalated when school management reportedly attempted to prevent him from entering the premises.

Internal Dispute Behind Incident

Preliminary information indicates the incident is linked to an internal dispute between two brothers who manage the school. The elderly man seen in the video is identified as a 69-year-old former teacher who had come to collect his experience certificate. Instead of issuing a certificate recognizing him as a regular teacher, the school allegedly gave him one describing him as an activity teacher. When the senior citizen objected and requested a corrected document, the situation worsened.

Staff Behavior and Viral Video

It is alleged that the two staff members acted inappropriately, used threatening language, and asked him to leave the premises, even telling him to return with the police. The video clip soon circulated online, drawing criticism from members of the education fraternity and the public.

Swift Action by DEO

Following the episode, DEO Chaudhary took swift action by publicly reprimanding the staff and issuing a show-cause notice to the school. Statements of the staff involved were recorded, and the enquiry remains ongoing. The school has been directed to take strict disciplinary action. Depending on the final findings, legal action may also be pursued.
