Ahmedabad Teenager Lured to Mount Abu, Drugged and Sexually Assaulted in Elaborate New Year Party Trap
In a deeply disturbing case from Ahmedabad, a 17-year-old girl from the Ranip area was allegedly befriended online, lured to Mount Abu under the false promise of a New Year's Eve celebration, drugged, sexually assaulted, and filmed without her knowledge or consent. The horrific incident came to light months later when the video surfaced and went viral on various social media platforms, prompting the victim to file an official police complaint.
Online Friendship Turns Sinister: The Trap is Set
According to the detailed complaint filed with the Ranip police on Friday, the victim had initially become friends with a 14-year-old girl approximately one year ago through the popular social media platform Instagram. The two maintained regular contact over the subsequent months, building what appeared to be a casual online friendship. However, this connection would soon become the gateway to a premeditated and vicious crime.
On December 30, 2025, the victim received a direct phone call from the minor girl, enthusiastically inviting her to join an exclusive New Year's Eve party at the hill station of Mount Abu. Trusting her friend, the 17-year-old agreed and made the journey from Ahmedabad to Kalol. It was in Kalol that she first met the minor girl in person, alongside a 26-year-old man who would later be identified as a primary perpetrator.
The Fateful Journey and Hotel Room Assault
The trio boarded a train late that night, arriving in Mount Abu in the early hours of December 31. They promptly checked into a local hotel. Later that same afternoon, the minor girl and the man invited the complainant to join them in a separate hotel room to continue the New Year festivities. It was in this room that the planned assault unfolded.
The victim recounted to police: "They were drinking beer and gave me a cola to drink. After consuming it, I began to feel strangely intoxicated and quickly lost consciousness. When I eventually regained awareness, I found my clothes scattered around the room. I immediately suspected something terrible had occurred. I questioned both of them, but received no satisfactory or truthful answers." Feeling violated and confused, the traumatized teenager later returned to Ahmedabad alone by train, carrying the heavy burden of the unexplained incident.
Months Later: Viral Video Exposes the Crime
The shocking truth of what transpired in that Mount Abu hotel room remained hidden from the victim for several months. The brutal revelation came on a Wednesday, when another girl informed her that a nude video depicting her assault had gone viral across multiple social media groups and platforms.
The victim described the video's contents in her statement: "The footage clearly showed the man sexually assaulting me while I was in a semi-conscious state. The minor girl was actively filming the entire criminal act and was also seen touching me inappropriately during the assault." This visual evidence forced the victim to confront the grim reality. "I finally realized that I was deliberately called to Mount Abu under the deceitful pretext of a New Year party. I was cheated, drugged, and violated," she stated in her formal complaint.
Police Action and Multiple Legal Charges Filed
Following the filing of the complaint, the Ranip police have taken swift action. Roshani Solanki, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for the SC/ST cell, confirmed that authorities have arrested the 26-year-old man from Kalol for his alleged role in the sexual assault. The 14-year-old minor girl has been taken into observation as the investigation proceeds.
The police have registered a comprehensive case under a multitude of stringent provisions from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These charges include rape, sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, gang rape, causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence, criminal breach of trust, and assault with intent to outrage modesty and disrobe. Critically, the case has also been registered under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Atrocity Act, reflecting the severe nature of the crimes committed against a minor.
This case highlights the dangerous potential of online interactions and the devastating consequences of predatory behavior, underscoring the urgent need for vigilance and robust legal recourse in the digital age.
