Tragic Suicide in Ajmer: Man Leaves Heartbreaking Message on Stone Before Jumping into Lake
A 35-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after jumping into Lal Diggi Lake in Nasirabad town of Ajmer district on Thursday morning. The incident has left the local community in shock and grief.
Distressing Discovery Near the Lake
According to police officials, the deceased, identified as Kishan Dhodhani, a resident of Housing Board Colony in Nasirabad, was seen sitting near the lake for some time before taking the extreme step. A daily wage labourer by profession, Dhodhani reportedly jumped into the water, leaving behind his shoes and a poignant message written on a stone.
A passerby noticed the shoes lying near the lake and immediately alerted the police, setting in motion a rescue and investigation operation.
Police and NDRF Launch Search Operation
Nasirabad Sadar station house officer Pankaj Kumar stated that a police team, along with personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), reached the spot with a boat to conduct search operations. The search lasted nearly an hour before the body was successfully retrieved from the lake.
Officer Kumar revealed the heartbreaking details of the message found at the scene: "We found his shoes and a stone with a message that read, 'My wife and my children, please forgive me.'"
Family Left Behind and Ongoing Investigation
The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters, aged 8 and 12 years. Police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
The exact reason behind this tragic incident remains unclear and is currently under investigation. Police are recording statements from family members and neighbors to gather more information about Dhodhani's circumstances and state of mind prior to the incident.

In a significant development, officials confirmed that the stone bearing the emotional message has been sent for forensic examination.
