Allahabad HC Launches Hindi e-AHCR Board Room

In a landmark move to enhance legal accessibility, the Allahabad High Court has launched a dedicated digital platform to provide its judgments in Hindi. The initiative, named the 'e-AHCR Board Room,' was officially inaugurated by Chief Justice Arun Bhansali at the SUVAS cell of the court in Prayagraj.

A Digital Leap for Legal Inclusivity

The newly launched webpage is designed to host the Hindi versions of the court's reported judgments. This project was executed under the guidance of the AI-assisted legal translation advisory, e-AHCR, and ILR committee. The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of key judicial figures, including committee chairman Justice Ajit Kumar, along with members Justice Vikram D. Chauhan and Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha.

Justice Ajit Kumar revealed a significant milestone: the translation of all reportable judgments from the year 2010 up to October 2025 has been successfully completed. He further announced that the SUVAS Cell is currently working on translating nine categories of non-reportable judgments. In an ambitious commitment, he assured that the translation of all non-reportable final orders and judgments would commence on March 17, coinciding with the celebration of the High Court's 160th anniversary.

Pioneering Digital Publications in the Judiciary

Highlighting the court's pioneering role, Justice Ajit Kumar noted that the Allahabad High Court stands as the only high court in India to publish a digital magazine titled 'Nyayabha - Nyaya Ki Kiran' and e-booklets focusing on historical and landmark cases. The event also served as the launchpad for the third edition of this e-magazine.

Justice Vikram D. Chauhan delivered the vote of thanks, extending congratulations to the entire team involved in the project. Chief Justice Arun Bhansali also commended the efforts of the SUVAS Cell team and the editorial board for their dedication.

Team Effort Behind the Initiative

The occasion was graced by several dignitaries who played crucial roles in bringing this project to life. Notable attendees included Registrar General Manjeet Singh Sheoran, advocates Vinay Saran and Samir Sharma (serving as senior editors), Pawan Kumar Sharma (HJS), Arvind Verma (HJS), and Vivek Srivastava, Joint Registrar of the SUVAS Cell.

Members from the Editorial Board present at the event were Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Dr. Anupam Srivastava, Manish Kumar Singh, Radha Raman, and Arindam Lahiri. The entire staff of the SUVAS Cell was also recognized for their contributions. Alongside the webpage launch, the new e-AHCR logo was unveiled, marking a fresh identity for this digital legal resource.

This initiative represents a substantial step towards democratizing legal information in India, ensuring that crucial court judgments are accessible to a wider, Hindi-speaking populace, thereby bridging the gap between the judiciary and the common citizen.
