Allu Arjun Appears Before Court via Video Conference
Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared virtually before a Hyderabad court on Tuesday in connection with the stampede that occurred during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, 2024. The incident at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and left her eight-year-old son hospitalized.
Court Proceedings and Legal Developments
The actor, who was initially arrested on December 13 and later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court, appeared before the Nampally criminal court via video conference from his residence. The court extended his interim bail until January 10, 2025, and directed him to cooperate with the investigation.
According to the police, the stampede occurred when a large crowd gathered outside the theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who was attending the premiere. The victim, identified as Revathi, died due to suffocation, and her son was critically injured. The police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections of the Indian Penal Code for causing death due to negligence.
