Legal Proceedings and Investigation

Addressing a press conference, DSP (Crime) Virender confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the NDPS Act at the Mahesh Nagar police station. The accused was produced before a court on Saturday, where police remand was granted to facilitate further investigation.

The police are now focused on tracing the backward and forward linkages of the drug network. This includes identifying the source of the narcotics and the intended recipients, aiming to uncover the broader syndicate involved. It was revealed that Ariman has a criminal history, with previous cases registered against him under the NDPS Act and for assault-related offences, indicating his entrenched role in illicit activities.

Arrest of Main Accused in Separate Heroin Case

In a related development, the CIA-II unit has also arrested the main accused in a case involving the seizure of 708 grams of heroin. The individual, identified as Amar Singh alias Amra, a resident of Dashmesh Nagar in the Baldev Nagar area of Ambala, had been evading arrest since March 25.

His evasion began when the Baldev Nagar police apprehended his wife with 708 grams of heroin from the Jarot road in Dashmesh Nagar locality. During interrogation, the woman disclosed that her husband, Amar Singh, and his associate Gurjeet were the primary operators of the illegal drug trade.

Police investigations have uncovered that multiple cases under the NDPS Act are already registered against Amar Singh across various police stations in Punjab and Haryana. This pattern underscores his deep involvement in narcotics trafficking networks spanning state borders.

Court Proceedings and Total Arrests

Amar Singh was produced before a competent court on Saturday, which granted the police a two-day remand for further interrogation. So far, a total of three persons, including Amar Singh's wife, have been arrested in this case, as confirmed by the police authorities.

The concerted efforts by the Ambala police reflect a robust strategy to combat drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Haryana Abhiyan. By targeting key individuals and seizing significant drug hauls, law enforcement aims to disrupt supply chains and promote a drug-free environment in the state. The ongoing investigations are expected to yield more insights into the operational networks and lead to further arrests.
