Residents of Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Yamunanagar districts in Haryana will no longer need to visit police stations for character certificates, passport verification, tenant verification, and other police clearance-related services. In a citizen-centric initiative, Ambala Range Inspector General Pankaj Nain has directed police officials in the three districts to conduct verification processes at the applicants' residences.
Key Features of the Initiative
The police will also obtain feedback from applicants after the verification process. Dedicated helpline numbers have been issued to receive complaints related to delays, misconduct, or corruption. The decision was taken during a meeting of police officials from the three districts convened by the IG.
